What Causes Excessive Tiredness?

I have a 30 year old daughter that has been complaining of being tired all of the time.Last week she woke up with her eyes and nose black and swollen. Now her nose continually bleeds.not much but drops. She says it is sore.Could this be a sign of diphenhydramine abuse?I noticed 3 days ago she takes it like candy.100 capsules in a 45 hour period.

Hello
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.

Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body.

Your daughter has taken a big too much diphenhydramine in a short period of time. This drug affect the central nervous system and can cause sleepiness and tiredness. So,the diphenhydramine abuse can be the cause of her constant tiredness.

I didn't find in the literature any relation between diphenhydramine and nosebleeds.

Anyway i can say that this drug is an antihistamine, which dries out a person's mouth and nasal passages and other mucous membranes.

That means when a person goes to blow their nose they can have a nosebleed and the nose may become painful.
If they have a vein or capillary very near the inner surface of the nose, the nosebleed can be spontaneous. This can explain the continually nose bleeds of your daughter.

My advice for you is to consult your daughter physician because she may need medical help to stop the cotinually nosebleed and to start a detoxification programme.

Hope this is helpful.
If you have other questions, feel free and ask.I will be happy to help.
Best regards.
