Hello,
Vaginal discharge serves an important housekeeping function in the female reproductive system. Vaginal fluid carries away dead cells and bacterias.
The fluid keeps it clean and helps to prevent infection.
Excessive vaginal discharge most commonly occurs after sexual intercourse as one does not keep proper hygiene which may cause infection and its the sign of excessive vaginal discharge.
Wash your perineal area with soap immediately after having sexual intercourse. Rinse properly.
Apart from taking antibiotics (like
Metronidazole or
Tinidazole) for infection, you should keep proper perineal hygiene.
You should keep the vagina clean by washing regularly with gentle, mild soap and warm water. Never use scented soaps and feminine products or douche. Also, avoid feminine sprays.
After going to the bathroom, always wipe from front to back to prevent bacteria from getting into the vagina and causing infection.
Wear 100% cotton underpants and avoid overly tight clothing.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
