Female, age 63, 5 8 220 lbs, I have been using my first CPAP for 4 years. I would have to pop it off a couple of times a night because the pressure built up so much. I had to get a mouth guard because my tongue pushing on my teeth made my teeth hurt and feel like I was making them loose. I recently switched to a Philips System One Heated Humidifier with heated hose. It is wonderful. The pressure doesn t build up until I have fallen asleep and I was able to get rid of the mouth guard. My mouth is never dry in the morning (i.e. I sleep with my mouth shut all night long.) The problem is the phlegm. I kept adjusting the heat and humidity down. I have finally turned the heat off to the hose and emptied the water reservoir. Now there is no phlegm, but I feel I should have the humidity. Your thoughts?
