What Causes Extreme Fatigue After Using Prolia Drug?
My 83-year-old mother had her first shot of PROLIA in October and ever since has experienced extreme fatigue the only thing we can attribute it to is this Injection. Is there a way to reverse the side effects or will it go away on its own or will it never go away?thank you
Hi Dear, Thanks for contacting HCM I must inform you that Prolia is trade name for drug denosumab which is generally used for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at high risk for fracture. Fatigue and muscle weakness are common with the use of Prolia. If your mother has extreme fatigue and is unable to perform self care activities would suggest you to contact your treating physician. However, there are few steps you can take which would help your mother- - give her plenty of fluids (unless instructed otherwise) as it is important to avoid becoming dehydrated. - give her calcium and vitamin D supplement as necessary to treat and/or prevent low blood calcium levels. - Maintain good nutrition. -Give her plenty of rest. -Drug like acetaminophen can also be used to reduce generalized aches and pains, however talk to her treating physician before giving it. Hope this has helped you Regards
