Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Extreme Nausea, Dizziness And Vomiting?
This has happened twice: Extreme nausea, dizziness, vomiting, diarrhea, headache and spike in blood pressure ( up to 180+/90+) Headache lingers for next day after the other symptoms go away. Was dehydrated the first time this happened. Did not get a diagnosis except possible virus.
Extreme nausea, dizziness, vomiting, diarrhea headache can be due to a form of gastroenteritis that gives such symptoms. Raised blood pressure may be the body's reaction to the whole episode. Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation: -Re-consult your doctor for clinical evaluation and examination. -Insist on the investigations of stool, blood, and urine; ultrasonography of abdomen. -Any other relevant investigations. -All these will help to get a proper diagnosis, and if a bacterial infection is found to cause these then a course of an antibiotic, metronidazole can help you to get a proper cure. -Also needed are a cardiac evaluation, and relevant investigations to rule out any cardiac issues that have caused raised blood pressure since gastroenteritis of any sort actually reduce the blood pressure and does not cause hike.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
