What Causes Extreme Skin Tenderness And Burning Sensation On Right Upper Back?

I have been having extreme skin tenderness and a burned sensation on my right upper back under scapula that radiates towards my right breast. Occassionally there are feelings of pin sticks in this area. I have rheumatoid arthritis but rarely have flareups. This tenderness and pain have been going on about two weeks. No rash.
