What Causes Eye And Cheekbone Pain, Nasal Pus And Blood, TMJ Soreness?

Hi, I am wondering if I have a sinus infection.
I have pain around my eye and cheek bone on one side of my face. At the top of my nostril on that same side there also appears to be a slight build up of pus and blood. There is not so much that it is drippy, but it has been there for the past two or three days.
In the past 2-3 days, I have also noticed that when I wake up, the area from the bottom of my ear down to around my jaw is sore, and my ear feels a bit stuffy. This is also on the same side of my face.

Any advice you could give would really be appreciated!

If it helps, I had a cold about two weeks ago and was really stuffed up. Also had sinus pressure.
And I took an overseas flight over this past weekend.

I have had sinus colds before, but never experienced the pus/blood thing in the nose.

Thanks a lot!

Hi...
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain the symptoms are pointing towards sinus infection and there is pus formation in the sinus secondary to infection and blood and pus discharge is due to Sinusitis and it is discharging through nose because the sinuses drains through nose..
Pain over the cheekbone and around the eye seems also be due to sinus infection as sinuses are present as hollow cavities in the bones..
The stuffiness in ear and soreness in ear and jaw can be due to ear infection and can be secondary to sinus infection and stuffy ear can be due to fluid accumulation behind ear drum..
You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a PNS view
x- ray and MRI of maxillary sinus can help in confirming the cause and treatment can be planned accordingly..
For both sinus and ear infection antibiotics like Augmentin or cephelexin can help.
Take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, do steam inhalations, steroid nasal sprays and saline irrigations..
You can also be advises antibiotic ear drops..
In case if still the condition does not improve then surgical drainage of the sinuses can help..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
