Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had an eye infection for a week. I used gentamicin from Friday - Tuesday for my eye which is red. It started off feeling like someone had punched me in my right eye in the right corner. I saw my doctor and he prescribed the Gentamicin. I had redness still so I called my doctor and now I am using ciprofloxacin .3% solution. It really stings every time that I use it. By the way I do not have any discharge from the eye. Should I see an ophthalmologist now?
Hello, Yes, it is probably time to see a specialist. Some of these medicines for the eyes can cause redness but if symptoms are persisting then you should see an ophthalmologist. Regards
