my six month old daughter's eye was a little swollen after her nap today and some greenish mucus was in the corner of her eye. Can you tell me what it is? does she need to be seen? The swelling has since gone down, but i wiped mucus out of her eye again before she just went to sleep.
it is most probably bacterial infection. clean the eye with sterile swab. apply ofloxacin .3%eye drop one drop two times daily. neosporine eye ointmentonce at bed time. the child will improve in 3to4days.
