What Causes False Positive Test Results For Suboxone?
I take Subutex because I had allergic reaction to Suboxone. My past three drug test have shown up that I had naloxone in it and I know I haven t take Suboxone. So after the second test I thought I would see if it was bs. I took pee from a clean person and put Subutex in it to c what would come back. They said it had naloxone it it also. How can that happen? I wondering if someone at Dr office is tampering with my test.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Subutex is a brand name for buprenorphine. Both suboxone and subutex contain buprenorphine, and suboxone additionally contain naloxone. Naloxone and buprenorphine are not detected by standard drug screening tests but if the hospital is using specific drug tests, such as a 12 panel drug test, subutex is also detected.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Thank you, Malik Amonov MD
