What Causes Fast Heart Rate And Pressure In Throat While Breathing And Swallowing?

My heart seems to be beating a little bit faster than normal, I just checked my bpm and it is 90. I'm also feeling pressure when I breathe, and even more pressure down my throat and into my chest when I swallow liquid or food. Overall it is just discomfort and no serious pain. But I'd like to feel 100% again as I live a VERY busy life. This has been for the last 3 days.

Hi,

I would explain that your symptoms could be related to anxiety. Anyway, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a routine check-up including a physical exam and some tests:

- A resting ECG
- Complete blood count for anemia
- A chest X-ray study
- Blood electrolytes
- Thyroid hormone levels

If these tests result normal, you should consider anxiety as the main cause of your complaints.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
