hi my name is adalsi i am 3 months pregnant and jsut camer out of the ER i was administered Zofran for my nausea and vomiting i have lost 23 lbs in a just 1 month. at the moment i am feeling palpitations i dont know if its a side effect of Zofran but ive had these palpitations at time before i got pregnant. What should i do?? i am worry the my fast heart rate might harm my fetus. Can it?
Your own heart rate being fast is most likely due to your being weak and dehydrated from being unable to eat and drink properly. Your heart beat does not affect the fetus, and pregnancies that are associated with hyperemesis gravidarum (severe nausea and vomiting in pregnancy) actually have better pregnancy outcomes than average. So do not worry about the baby- just do what you can to get food and liquid into your body, and if the palpatations continue discuss it with your OB and they may want you to see a cardiologist. I hope this was helpful and good luck with your pregnancy!
