What Causes Fatigue After Missing Synthroid Pills?
I have suffered from Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism for 11yrs. It took a long time to get my TSH levels to get within normal range. I stay at the high end of normal on 175mcg of Synthroid. Well Thursday, Friday and Saturday I was sick. I didn't get out to pick up my Synthroid until Sunday afternoon. So I didn't have it to take Friday and Saturday. I took it Sunday afternoon. I usually am pretty good about taking it every morning around the same time with water. Mondays dose I took properly. And I have felt pretty fatigued and all since then. The question is, are the days I missed enough to make my TSH levels low?
Hello there, Thank you for your question. Good to know that you normally do not miss your pills and very regular with them. Its ok to have missed a couple of doses. However, missing doses may make you feel lethargic and weak as thyroid hormones fall in blood on days that you dont take the medicine. But there wont be too much effect on your TSH levels. Do not skip more doses and try to be regular as much as you can. Do repeat a TSH test after 4 weeks to be sure. Hope this helps. Take care.
