Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 68 yr old male : somewhat overweight with blood pressure and cholesterol issues. Usually feel good. Today I feel achy and chilled. No other symptoms: no fever, no nausea, no diarrhea (sp?). I did not get great sleep last night--went to bed late, dogs got me up early...But my only symptoms are achiness and chills. Any thoughts?
You could be coming down with a viral infection, such as a cold or other illness. It could also be related to the poor sleep. Achiness is not uncommon after not sleeping well. At this point, if there are no other symptoms, I would just watch it and try to get a good night's sleep; see if it's better in the morning. If other symptoms start to develop, this might help pinpoint what it could be. Then you can treat it appropriately or seek medical help if necessary. Hope this helps.
