What Causes Feeling Of Falling In Every Time?

Hi

My father is 78 years of age. He feels he will fall. Initially we thought he has leg related issue (he used to say he feels his leg is weak). But recently I have ceome sure that its not leg related. The reason for my belief is that when he is sleeping in bed he holds the bed with two hands. So the qestion arises if he is sleeping then leg is not coming into picture then there must be something else. Hence I want to know what could be the issue and I am open for his treatment.

There are many conditions that can cause older patients to feel unsteady and have falls. Make sure that he is drinking enough water (at least 48 oz per day) and that he can see normally (glasses if needed). Then have him see a doctor for general exam and blood tests to make sure there is no medical problem. He may also benefit from seeing a physical therapist who could help him with strengthening and balance issues
