What Causes Feeling Of Food Struck In Belly Area?

Hi I feel like whenever I eat a meal that it gets stuck right around my belly button area. What could that be ? I'm a40 year old white female that is active and healthy. I ws born with my belly button herniated and had it repaired one time when I was 20 years old.

Hi there,

This could be due to a hernia at your belly button that has recurred. Unfortunately, hernias do tend to recur after time, especially if it was not repaired with mesh. If you have food that you feel in that area, it is likely that due to the increased abdominal pressure from eating, the hernia becomes more noticeable.

I would see a general surgeon and talk to him about having this repaired.

I hope this answers your questions. Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions.
