What Causes Feeling Of Hunger In Stomach Inspite Of Not Being Hungry?

I saw a documentary about a year ago-telling my boyfriend about it but I do not remember the name of the disease. It is basically your stomach is telling your brain that you are hungry even when you are not. It is like having a bottomless pit of a stomach. In the documentary-a family was being followed in this documentary-their son had to be literally tied in a chair so he wouldn t get to things to eat. He couldn t stop eating at all. He would eat not only food but objects too like plastic, paper, glass etc. The mother ended up institutionalized him cause she couldn t care for him like she wanted to. He became very violent when he didn t have food. He always yelled, threatened them until they would give in and gave him a sandwich, or something, which was an endless fight. Just wanted to know the name of the disease he had. What is it called?

It is difficult to say anything about the disease if you do not have the complete medical history or atleast there should be some chief complaint. Here from the information provided I could say that it could be due to schizophrenia, (Not for sure) but it is one of the functional disorders.
