I have this problem it feels like i have a lump in my throat, i get a load of saliva that builds up into my mouth and then it becomes think saliva but then all of a sudden it does so i don't see the doctor because it goes away and when it happens i panic bad
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query. The lump like feeling in the throat can be because of the peritonsillar abscess. The excessive pooling of saliva can be because of the infection in the tonsil. Nothing to be panic, consult an ENT surgeon and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole(if you are not allergic). Do saline gargling. Once the infection comes down, the salivary flow will become normal. I hope I have answered your query, take care.
