What Causes Feeling Of Something Stuck In Throat, Tight Chest And Breathlessness?
Hi, I m itssel. I have a question from something that s been happening to me for a while now. It s this feeling in my chest and throat. It s as if I had something stuck in it. In my chest, it feels like its being sat on. It feels really tight. Also I have this horrible pain in between and under my ribs. It all gets worst when I lay down. It doesn t let me breathe. Also, my heart is just racing, and suddenly it goes back to being slow. It hurts really bad when this happens. It s been going on for a while now but each time it happens it just gets worst. I also get nausea. I dont think this is normal or a good thing. Your help would be appreciated, thank you.
By your history and description, we should definitely rule out asthma first. So consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test). If PFT is normal then no need to worry for asthma. Another possibility is stress and anxiety. Stress and anxiety can also cause similar symptoms. So consult psychiatrist and get done counseling sessions.
Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution. You may need anxiolytic drugs (Propranolol and Flunarizine combination) too. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
