Hello,
if your main concern is your throat discomfort, consider more diagnostic tests such as an
endoscopy. This can help rule out any polyps, tumors, ulcers or cancerous growths. Extreme inflammation can cause swelling, raw, dehydrated tissue. If congestion and
sinus infection has contributed to your condition,
post nasal drip is very acidic to the throat. Snoring and
mouth breathing can be damaging to throat tissue . Medications taken orally can be acidic and burn tissue if not completely swallowed. A more detailed history on your medical condition would allow me to provide additional suggestions.
As long as you have a confirmed diagnosis and treated your primary infection, you may only be able to treat your symptoms. Soothe your fragile tissue. Avoid irritants and keep well hydrated. Prescription rinses or longezes may help. Antiinflammitory medication may help. Tylenol, Advil or the antihistamine
Benadryl can be considered. Prescription steroids can provide relief with extreme discomfort.
Thank you for your inquiry. I hope you feel better soon.
