What Causes Feelings Of Chest Pain With Eye Puffiness And Numbness?
I have been prescribed mirtaz 7.5 mg for 5 days... After the first tablet itself I was having drowsiness body ache chest pain etc. then I reduced it to half of 7.5 mg and even with that the symptoms did not reduce.... So on the third day I stopped the medicine.... Having stopped the medicine.... I m still not feeling good and normal.... I m feeling numbness and difficult feeling in chest.... Puffiness of eyes And uncomfortable.... For how many days will I have this feeling?
Mirtazapine is an atypical antidepressants rug and the drug is a NaSSa drug (Noradrenalin selective serotonin antagonist). The drug is known to increase anxiety for first few days when a patient starts to take drug. Usually this rebound increase in anxiety lasts for about a week. Starting a drug at low doses prevent this side effects and then the dose can be increased gradually. Alternately benzodiazepines in low doses along with Mirtazapine can help to reduce the symptoms of increased anxiety.
So you can consult with your psychiatrist either to start with low doses again or to prescribe low dose benzodiazepines along with the drug. Mirtazapine is known to increase sedation and drowsiness so should be taken in evening hours only.
Thanks, hope this helps you. Take Care
