My 90 year old Aunt has polychronditis. Her ear is so inflamed it gets large crusty scabs on her ear. Recently she started breaking out with itchy bumps but only one or two at a time. In a day or two they disappear, and new bumps show up. She is also been running a low grade fever for almost 3 weeks. Her Dr. told her to take benadryl and tylenol. The bumps have stopped but she is still running a low grade fever. Could this be linked to inflammation due to the polychronditis or something else?
