What Causes Fever And Passing Of Urine Frequently?

Hello doctor,My new born baby (28 days) has fever these days. I took her to pediatrician and she said everything is normal with baby. She took her blood and told us she is having mild infection. She prescribed antibiotic. My baby girl passes urine very often and a lot. Is it normal for babies? I am worried if she got UTI. Thank you

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

From symptoms alone, it is difficult to make out UTI in a 28 days old baby. I would recommend getting her urine tested. Meanwhile, continue medicines as advised. UTI in this age usually needs injectable antibiotics to avoid progressing to sepsis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
