What Causes Fever Post A Kidney Removal Surgery?

I am just one week away from having a kidney removed. If we were the ureter tube due to the scaring of all the stones and have had to have several stents put in to help pass the stones and help functioning at 13 percent. When my GP saw the results of the kidney function and that it was not getting enough blood, it showed that I also have fibromuscular dysplasia. Just about a month ago I was put in the hospital for pain control to help pass another stone. I have not seen my urologist again until we are ready to go into surgery. I suffer with consist pain, nausea, always so tired and emotions are way out of control. I am very worried about the whole thing. The thing that is bothering me right now, is that I have been running a 95.5 temp all day

Hi,

In my opinion, 95.5 should not be considered as fever, however, it is considered as low temperature, also known as hypothermia. Though, hypothermia, is also not normal and it can be sign of some other medical condition, some of which may be mild, but other may be serious conditions like sepsis somewhere in the body or general septicemia etc.

Hence, in your case, it should be investigated for the reason of low temperature. It may be even kidney sepsis, in your condition. Better, you talk with your doctor about this, as you may need some prior treatment for this before undergoing kidney removal surgery.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
