The infection is indicated by the presence of fever which needs to be controlled by methods like cold sponging or medicines like paracetamol which are sold in brandnames like Crocin, Calpol, Pyrigesic etc. which is given at 15 mg/kg/dose. Such an infection generally has an allergic component associated alongwith, for which anti-allergics and cough syrups are given. T-minic contains Phenylephrine which is given at 0.2 mg/kg/dose 3 or 4 times a day. The amount in ml would depend upon the formulation of the syrup (medicine content in mg/ml). For giving medicines to a child, appropriate dosage is important as is the understanding of the actual condition. I strongly insist that you consult your paediatrician before using it. Your doctor would also be able to decide which medicines are to be given and whether antibiotics are to be prescribed alongwith.
