What Causes Fever,abdominal Pain And Loss Of Apetite In Elderly People?

Patient is 81 years old lady , suffered from fever and got left abdmoinal pain and then lossed appetite since 15 days Pus Cells 40 to 50 in Urine Routine and Microscopic exam. amikacine 500 im has given for 3 days , mild fever is continuing, nitrofuratone 100g given for 3 days

It's a very clear cut case of Urine infection . But the urine infection might have spread to Kidney also ( that might be the reason for abdominal pain ).

Proper treatment is to send a urine culture sensitivity test and use antibiotic as per the culture sensitivity test report . If not yet sent kindly send urine culture sensitivity test.

Mild fever will be there for 3-4 days but it will subside . But if fever is high or if fever is persistent after 5 days then it means that antibiotic is not working . In that case a different antibiotic has to be started .

Loss of appetite is both due to urine infection and antibiotics , but it will go off in few days .
