What Causes Fishy Smelling Penis And Vagina?

My boyfriend penis has that fishy smell and we had sex. After we had sex I started to smell fishy in my vagina. I never experience this before my last women exam was last month of February and my test was negative but I had sex with him before I did my test and I don t want to go back and get tested again but I m gonna have to just to be safe.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

This is most probably bacterial vaginosis and should be investigated further and accordingly treated (usually with antibiotic coverage). I would thus recommend a visit to your doctor and a urine analysis and vaginal swab test to help confirm the diagnosis. Once the results of the tests are out, accurate and effective antibiotics can be initiated to completely cure you.

In the meantime, please make sure you avoid sexual contact in all possible forms until at least 2 weeks after the last dose of treatment. Please also make sure you change your inner garments regularly and if at all a vaginal discharge is present, then wear a sanitary pad and change it frequently.
