I was having difficulty swallowing food and my supplements and medications. I thought that maybe my thyroid was inflamed, but had that checked it is not. Then one of the doctors said I may have fissures in the back of my throat or espohagus. Food does get stuck in the back of my throat and or esophagus and sometimes it does take the act of God to go down. What are fissures? Are they pockets in the throat where food catches?
