What Causes Flaky Patches Of Skin On Breast During Pregnancy?

I am 14 weeks pregnant. The past few weeks I have noticed that intermitentially on my left breast I have been getting scattered slightly dark flaky patches of skin. There is no itching or pain and no alteration to the surrounding skin besides some mild driness. The flaky areas pull off without pain or bleeding and sort of resemble a very thin scab (but are not over a wound). Can anyone tell me what might be going on and if it should cause concern or if it s just part of being pregnant?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
In pregnancy skin of breast ( & all the body ) gets dry due to pregnancy hormones. It also breaks / cracks due to enlargement of breast. This some times leads to / patchy/itching/ easy removable of superficial layer of the dried skin.
* Management consists of applying edible oils/ olive oit to body/ breast with gentle massage before taking warm water bath,
- using creams like stretchnil.
Thanks.
