What Causes Flank Pain On Left Side While Having UTI?
Hi, I am a 24 year old female who has been diagnosed with spondylolithesis many years ago. Starting in December I started experiencing flank pain on my left side. I never really thought much of it, but just assumed it was because of the spondy. In February I had a urinary tract infection. Starting in April my right flank began to bother me. Again I didnt think much of it. Then I had another very sudden uti with a lot of blood at the beginning of May. And I had another attack yesterday. The doc just says its a uti and gave me more antibiotics. Now my flank pain had really been bothering me and it even wakes me up of I sleep on my side or really hurts if I lean to either side. Im just wondering if these two issues could be linked some how or if they are two totally separate issues. Thanks!
You will need an ultrasound of your kidneys and pelvis to make sure there are no stones or other causes of loin pain and to find any possible causes causing UTI. Spondylolisthesis can also cause pain in one or both flanks.
