What Causes Flashes Of Light And Floater In Eye?

This morning I experienced a floater in my right eye, later this afternoon I experienced a flashing of light - thought it was a reflection from glasses and didn t pay any attention. This evening in a darkened room, I became aware of it again. There is no pain, but I am very concerned as to what it might be.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having sudden onset of flashes and floaters in the eye. This usually occurs in the problems involving the posterior segment of the eye involving the vitreous and retina in the form of vitreous detachment, vitreous degenerations, retinal tears....
This requires evaluation of the posterior segment by indirect ophthalmoscopy to identify problems like retinal tears which can predispose to development of retinal detachment and treatment by laser.

Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Hope this is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.
Thank you
