Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son is 10 and I have spoke with his pediatrician about the flat spot on his head when he was younger and I was told there was nothing to worry about. But now that he is older it is becoming even more noticeable. Is there anything I should worry about with his growth and development especially with his brain? He has good grades in school A s and B s.
I understand your concerns but don't worry. It seems that your child has positional plagiocephaly. It is caused by pressure on soft skull bones during infancy. It usually improves usually with age or gets hidden by hair and face growth. It's not associated with any restriction of brain growth or developmental delays. It doesn't require any treatment.
Hopefully this will help you. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.
