What Causes Fluctuating Blood Sugar Level In Spite Of Being On Glidezide?
Yes, you may. Before I was taking Byetta (the shot) and then my doctor gave me metform . The two made me ill and I remove myself from both of them for nearly two years. My glucose count we normal. When I got my new doctor he put me on glidezide. Why? Now glucose counts are very high in the A.M. (fasting) and low in the afternoons, P.M. (prior to my dinner). For example, 132 fasting and 68 before dinner and sometmes as low as 48.
I have gone through your query carefully and understood your concerns. I am sorry to hear you have been having difficulties getting your blood sugar in the normal range now. I am very happy you are this conscientious because having a well controlled blood sugar is very important in preventing the onset of diabetic complications. the medication byetta and metformin are very good medications which help in reducing fasting sugars they are usually well tolerated but in some patients they give side effects like nausea and vomiting. the medication glipizide stimulates your pancreas and drain insulin from it. in this kind of conditions i suggest tab metformin along with a new medication called sitagliptin this combination will have very low incidence of low sugars and will prevent damage of pancreas.
kindly speak with your treating doctor for changing of dose. regads
