What Causes Fluctuating Heartbeat?

I am a woman of 75 years. I suffer a little from a missing heart beat. Sometimes when I am in bed or watching television I get this peculiar feeling which extends from below my left breast up through the left side of my chest and up to the right side of my neck. i feel like standing up to try to relieve it. it lasts for no more than ten minutes. is it just trapped air in my stomach? Sometimes my heart is beating fast then slow and also missing beats.

Hello,

This is a normal syndrome in some hearts, especially older patient, but to be sure, you need to do ECG to the heart to exclude organic diseases.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
