What Causes Fluctuation In Platelets?

I am aged 65 and my platelet count is fluctuating between 40....50,000 for the past 12 years. I got bone marrow done and Dr diagonised ITP with reduced platelet . Except for minor bruising sometimes i have no other symptons and my Hb is constant 13 plus other parameters are normal. I am taking tablets for blood pressure for past 10 yrs and my BP varies 80-90 / 120-140. My weight is constant 70-72kg for past 10 yrs.I am in good health. Leading Drs have not prescribed me any medications except vitamin supplements.

I want to know how I can increase my platelet count.

I want to extract one tooth and do root canal in other two. Is it safe to do with a dentist or I have to go to hospital dentist.

Hi, dear
you are sufferin from chronic ITP. Its immune thrombocytopenic purpura. In this condition immune mediated destruction of platelets take place. So immuno supressent drugs like steroids will help you to increase your platelets level.
Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
