What Causes Fluid Accumulation And Pain In Thigh Muscle?

I was in an mva 1/11/12. I sustained a torn quad that was very painful and had a large raised area to the lateral thigh. 30 cc was drained. CT scan shwed where it was still actively leaking and reaccumulating. The tisue underneath is hard and grainy feeling and still very painful from midday on. No one told me to ice or wrap it. I ve been told to stretch it. What do you think about this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be a seroma. Recurrence is quite common with a seroma. Multiple aspirations will do the job. You scan apply right compression dressing also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
