hello dear. thanks for trusting HCM. I have gone through your questions and understood your concerns.
Tecfidera contains dimethyl fumarate, which is a medicine used to treat relapsing multiple
sclerosis. yes,
flushing is one of tecfidera's side effect that you may feel warmth, redness, or
tingling. beside that, others side effects are nausea,
diarrhea, stomach pain, cough, fever or chills, etc.
The incidence of flushing was highest in earlier treatment and usually decreased over time. here some tips for you:
- taking this drug with food (after breakfast and dinner) containing fat may reduce flushing.
- Alternatively, administration of non-enteric coated aspirin 30 minutes prior to tecfidera dosing may reduce the incidence or severity of flushing. better you consult with your doctor if you need it.
there's nothing to be worry about it. but if you feel that bother your life, please consult with your treating doctor.
I hope these can answer all your queries. if there's anything you need to know, just feel free to ask me more on HCM. I'd be glad to help. Take care.
best regards,
dr. Asti Yuliadha
