Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi My name is Desiree and I have been experiencing tummy fluttering when I can actually see my tummy move a little--not gas--not bubbling or gurgling. I been having head pain and dizziness, mood swings like crazy. I already have on child -9 months so I know what kicking feels like. I have had my period but its has been not as long--like 7 days. I took a prego test and NEG. I also have a lot of bloating in my tummy (which I am very used to having a flat tummy) so this is odd for me. Could I be prego, or could it be something else?
Dear Desiree, From what you have mentioned, and assuming that your quite smart/lean, fluttering across the abdomen in your case could be because of your intestines depicting what is known as 'peristalsis'. Now what is peristalsis? Let me put that in simple words, our gut is like a tube, and in order to move the food forward through it, our gut has an in built wave like activity that actually does the pushing job. So, that's what you are seeing, those wave like movements that help push food down the system, all the way down. Nothing to worry about.
