Over the past few years I have had episodes of food becoming lodged and unable to pass until I force it down with a liquid. Recently this did not work and the liquid came back up...eventually the food did go down. I chew my food well and this just happens out of the blue...any idea? I am a 39 year old female 5'4" 122 lbs with no health issues...other than this
Well come to HCM Thank for asking Really appreciate your concern, it is the difficulty in swallowing and the most common cause of this is the inflammatory condition of esophagus, it happens due to long history of GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux Disease), condition can be managed with PPI (Proton pump inhibitor ) it is just on trial, empirical basis but gives good result if not the other disease like malignancy or benign lesion of esophagus, I would suggest to try Tab Omeprazole 40 mg with Tab Domperidone 10 mg once in day at evening time, try to avoid the spicy food, coffee, smoking, heavy meal prior to bed, the suggested treatment needs to be taken for at least 6 wees hope this information helps.
