What Causes Foul Smell From Ear After Rupturing Eardrum?
My 7 yr old s eardrum ruptured last Saturday with no signs of a prior ear infection or anything like that.Today has been exactly 1 week and it seems to really bother him when we try to look at it through a ostoscope and now there is a awful smell coming from it

Hi...this is bacterial otitis media or middle ear infection due to bacteria. I suggest you see your pediatrician and get a prescription for Amoxycillin Clavulenate. If not getting better I suggest you consult an ENT surgeon.
