What Causes Foul Smell In The Mouth?

My daughters 5 and has a metalic smell in her mouth. her teeth are clean so no problems there. She does have a red patch o the back of her throat quite sore looking. I thought that she had damaged the roof of her mouth by biting something but she says not. She says it is not sore but maybe a little,itchy.

hello, caries tooth, gum infections, tongue ulcers, episode of tonsillitis or adenoiditis, chronic rhinitis, esophagitis or chronic chest infections cause foul breath and smell through mouth .for bad oral hygiene u can do simple salt water gargling twice daily for 3 days. if it's still persists have an ent consultation , for proper diagnosis and treatment.
