What Causes Foul Smelling Gas From The Stomach While Suffering From Colon Cancer?

is foul smelling gas an issue to colon cancer? My mother was diagnose 20 years ago, and is a survivor, now she is older the Dr. has given her a stool softener to soften her stool from constipation, and also lactulose for her bowels to move, but the stool softener is causing her to have foul smelling gas what is the problem here?
