What Causes Foul Smelling Urine ?

My 3 yr old has foul smelling urine. She does not complain of pain and drinks constantly....certainly not dehydrated. She has also been having behavior issues, including aggression. This is unusual for her, but she just started school and has a new baby, so not sur if it's related to the urine smell.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Get a urine analysis done to check for any urinary tract infection. Microscopy is essential to look for leukocytes.
2. Need to evaluate for metabolic disorders. Phenylketonuria can cause foul smelling urine. Get a biochemical evaluation for possible metabolic disorders.
3. Behavior issue and aggression can point towards metabolic disorder. Further clinical details necessary for evaluation.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
