What Causes Free Fluid In Pelvis After TAH With BSO?

In 2009 I had invasive lobular breast cancer and peritoneal carcinomatosis with mets tospine and malignant gastric ulcer of breast origin in 2012.I have been in remission since Feb.2013.Have had three Pet/CT scans(last one 9/8/2014) and all have shown no evidence of active disease. However,a trace of free fluid was noted in the pelvis on 9/8/14.I had complete hyst with BSO in 1979.Any idea what free fluid is?

hi healthcare magic user very sorry to hear your painful story. free fluid in the pelvic could be reaction to start of peritoneal involvement (metastatic), other part in your it could be recurrence in pelvis. free fluid in pelvis could be due to pelvic infections.
if I would have been your doctor I would have advised you to get Abdomen and pelvic CT scan done to confirm Recurrence.
