What Causes Frequent Attacks Of Cold And Fever In A Toddler?

My 3 years old has had a cold for 3 weeks now .. Went to the Dr twice already and they keep telling me she is fine. She had fever last week for 3 days .. went away and now again she had fever for 3 days (ranging from 100-103. She eats well and can be very active at times. Why is she getting those fever spikes? Her cold is not getting eny better either even after 3 weeks,

Hi.

I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.

As fever is not settling even after 3days of medication,It may be due to bacterial or viral cause. So, investigations to be done to find out the cause. I advice you to give,
- syp. Mefanamic acid twice daily (if temperature above 102 or 103)
- once it drops to 100, switch over to syp. Paracet
4 times a days
- topical sponging with warm water
- start antibiotics like syp. Amoxiclav for 5days
- if fever persists morethan 5days check for
IgM Dengue, widal test & complete blood count
