What Causes Frequent Black Loose Stools Indicate?

For many months I've had sores on my body, so does my husband. I've been so tired I rarely get off the couch. I've also had gas, stomach rumblings, blurred vision, by late evening it gets hard to breath. No diarrhea just a more frequent loose stool. My husband noticed black looking balls in his feces like cocoons with a yellow and red substance on them. I have them as well. Last night he dug what looked like a worm from his stool. We have pictures of the worm and of the sores. We have no insurance and are afraid the hospital want take us seriously. Even though we never; I do mean never go to the doc. I usually dont have internet I still rely on my out dated american medical association family medical guide book. Please help

Hello dear user!
I have gone carefully through your medical history
and I have understood your concerns!
It seems like you both have a parasitic infections in your bowels. Giardiasis, toxoplasmosis, or ascariasis (round worms) are the common parasitic infections that affect gastrointestinal system.
If they are not treated and stay for too long in the body, they lead to complications such as bleeding, anemia, skin rash, abdominal cramps, vision problems etc.
I understand that insurance issues make a problem in medical care affording but in this case some tests are required to determine the kind of infection and the way of a successful treatment.
I would strongly suggest you some simple analysis for you to be done:
- Complete blood count
- Stool analysis for parasites
- Occult blood in stool.

Basing on the findings of the analysis we can decide which would be the best medication to use for treating that.
Metronidazole, Mebendazole and other similar drugs are used to treat worms and parasitic infections.
You may need a supplement of iron in addition if you result anemic too.
Vitamins would help to recover quicker and diminish side effects of the antibiotics.

I hope you will be fine soon!
Sicerely, DR ERIOL.
