What Causes Frequent Bowel Movements After An Open Heart Surgery?

Post recovery from emergency open heart surgery in August 2017 (@ 3 months afterwards) I experience frequent bowel movements - @ 5 times each day, particularly after I ve eaten. Often it is diahreah. None of the meds I take have this as a potential side effect. Any ideas?

Usually people experience constipation after heart surgery. Just they might have advised laxatives for free bowel movements. If not you may need to check stool culture and microscopy for pathogen causing it. Drink sufficient amount of liquids, use tablet Sporulac twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Possible causes loose stools after surgery may be due to Laxative intake, infection or food Intolerance etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet Sporulac twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
