Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am a female who is 18 years old and have recently (past 3 days) been noticing that right after I eat, I feel hungry again. I exercise 7 times a week and eat good meals. I have also had constipation problems and have had them in the past, do you know what this could be? thank you!
Thanks for your query in HCM. I am Dr.Aliem, and I am pleased to answer your query.
Your symptom of feeling hungry after taking food is only of short duration. Are you dieting? I suggest that you can fill your stomach by adding some fiber-rich stuff, especially fruits and vegetables. This will also help your constipation problem. Take plenty of water and fresh fruit juices as well. As long as your BMI is within 18.5 – 24.9, you need not worry.
But if you continue to have increased appetite, especially if it is associated with excessive thirst and frequent urination, it is right time to check your blood sugars to rule out diabetes. Please consult your doctor regarding this.
Hope this helps. If you have further queries, feel free to post them. If you are satisfied with my answer, do give your feed back.
Take care. Dr.Aliem MD.,
