Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Frequent Redness And Burning Sensation In The Left Foot When Diagnosed With Arthritis?
I have frequent flares in my left foot (about twice a month). My foot becomes red, warm to the touch, swollen and incredibly painful with a throbbing/burning sensation. Gout seemed the likely diagnosis, but the pain is not in one joint, but throughout my foot and my uric acid level is six. The flares usually last about 7 days and occur overnight. Steroid injections and/or a medrol pack give swift relief, but I would like to get to the root cause. My rheumatologist has done extensive blood testing, as well as an X-ray that show arthritis, but nothing much more. Any ideas?
If it's gout which is diagnosed these symptoms are common. You need to undergo proper Physiotherapy exercises for the core, and lower limbs as a whole. Because with exercises as a combination with medication will have better output.
In my clinical practice of over 12 years, most cases with gout respond well to combination therapy than single.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
