Hi, I am a 5 6 160 lb. female with a eGFR of 52 and a creatinin of 1.1. My Dr. ordered a second non-fasting blood test and the results were the same. I am 54 yrs. of age and work out 4-5 X s a week. I had a traumatic accident when I was 22. It included loss of blood and lost of my leg. A steel rod placed in the left femur. I also had a blood transfusion. I ve had 3 c sections. I ve had chronic utii s in my mid to late 20 s then they stopped. I was on a regimen of bactrim for a while. I had a knee replacement in 2008 and almost had to be transfused before I could leave the hospital. I was diagnosed by a rheumatologist with moderate to severe osteo arthritis. She prescribed meloxicam. I didn t even finish the bottle of medication after I read about the possible dangers. My GP thinks that the low eGFR is due to chronic use of NSAIDs. I do not nor have I ever taken NSAIDs chronically. I am very in tune with my body as I take very good care of myself. I was 225 lbs in 2005 and decided I had to lose weight. I learned the right way to eat and exercise after I joined Curves, a special gym just for women. Now I work there and teach other women the right way to eat and exercise. I m concerned because I don t know my mother s side of the family as I have not seen her since the age of 5. My great grandmother is Native American. I have frequent urination and it is a lot of the time just a trickle. I m also tired a lot. I dint think anything of either of these issues, thinking that they were a product of old age. Thank you for your time. Jen
